以前の仕事で世話になった友人の８０才誕生パーティに招待されたので行って来た。私が５，６年前まで働いていたハノーバー見本市の本部で、各国の代表部を取りまとめ、世話してくれた女性（クリスタ・シュネル）が８０才になるので開いたパーテイである。ドイツ人は誕生日を大事にするようで、特に５０才、８０才の誕生日を重視するようである。
今年は６月にドイツ、ヨーロッパに来ているので、ちょっとおっくうだったが、彼女から来てくれるとうれしいと言われたので、世話になった彼女が喜んでくれるのならと参加した次第である。
パーティには和服で参加したので、彼女は予想外でちょっと驚いたが喜んでくれ、特に着物で来てくれたことに感謝された。
外国で着物を着たのは初めてだったが、なかなかよかったようで、多くの参加者と写真を一緒に撮った。
参加者には彼女の友人とわれわれ各国の代表部のOB（ドイツ、フランス、スイス、オーストリア、スペイン、ポーランド、アメリカ、そして日本）、また、彼女が名付け親になっている４人の子供家族などなど約１００人が参加し、盛大に行われた。６時に始まったパーティは翌朝の２時まで続いたが私は１１時で退散した。
Invited by my friend's 80th birthday party
I was invited to an 80th birthday party of my friend who took care of in my previous work and I went there.
This year I came already to Germany and Europe in June, so it was a little bit tough, but as I was told by her that she would be delighted to come, I decided to participate if she will be pleased. .
I participated in the party with Japanese clothes (photo), so she was surprised a bit, but she appreciated me and thanked me for coming in especially with kimono. I was the first time to wear kimono in a foreign country, but it seemed quite good, I was taken pictures together with many participants.
About 100 people participated in this party and it was held grandly.
The party started at 6 o'clock and continued until 2 o'clock in the next morning, but I went away at 11 o'clock.
