コロナウィルス感染を抑制するために、出来るだけ外に出ないようにしていたが、梅雨も明けたし、ワクチン接種も一回済ましていることもあって、ちょっと出かけることにした。出掛ける場所は、家からそれほど遠くなく、交通の便もいい八王子である。一回の乗り換えで、４０，５０分で行ける。数日前にテレビで八王子が紹介され、一度行ってみたいと思ったいたところであった。
もう一つ、以前からやりたい事があった。それは住んでいる東村山市からの路線バスに乗る事である。そこで、八王子に 行く
ために、今回初めて路線バスに乗ることにした。残念ながら八王子まではいかないので、途中の立川駅まで行き、そこからＪＲで八王子に行った。
八王子で駅を中心に歩き回った。月曜日で多くの店が休んでいたせいか、いい物があれば買おうと思っていた和服の店、草履などの和風の履物店を見つけられなかった。３５度Ｃと暑かったので１時間半ほどで一休みすることにした。折角来たので、八王子らしいお店が無いか探すと、八王子珈琲店の看板を見つけたので、入って一休みした。
コーヒーを飲みながら、八王子の町の印象をまとめてみた。これまで行ったことがあるような、なにか懐かしい感じがするのである。それは毎年数回行っていたドイツのハノーバーの駅前に似ているのである。道が放射状にはしり、その道沿いに店があるのである（写真）。ここ数年、ハノーバーに行っていないので懐かしく思ったのかも知れない。
帰りは、八王子駅から電車で国分寺乗り換え、熱中症にもならず無事帰ってきた。電車は便利だが、バスに比べると味がない。久しぶりのバスも楽しかった。
Stroll around Hachioji
In order to control the coronavirus infection, I tried not to go out as much as possible, but I decided to go out for a while because the rainy season was over and the vaccination had been completed once. The place to go is Hachioji City, which is not far from my house and has good transportation. I can get there in 40 or 50 minutes with a single transfer.
There was one more thing I wanted to do from before. That is to take a fixed-route bus from Higashimurayama City, where I live. Therefore, I decided to take a fixed-route bus for the first time to go to Hachioji. Unfortunately, this bus does not go to Hachioji, so I went to Tachikawa station on the way, and from there I went to Hachioji by JR.
I walked around the station in Hachioji. It was hot at 35 degrees Celsius, so I decided to take a rest in about an hour and a half.
While drinking coffee, I summarized the impression of the town of Hachioji. It feels like I've been there before. It resembles the station front of Hanover, Germany, which I used to go to several times each year.The road is radial and there are shops along the road (photo).I may have missed it because I didn't go to Hanover in 2,3 years.On the way back, I changed to Kokubunji by train from Hachioji Station and returned safely without suffering from heat stroke.
The train is convenient, but it tastes less than the bus. I also enjoyed the bus after a long absence.
