「奥(おく)田元(だげん)宋(そう)と日展の巨匠 －福田平八郎から東山魁夷へ」展を見てきた。奥田元宋の生誕１１０周年ということで、奥田元宋の作品がメインであった。奥田元宋については何も知らなかったが、テレビで紹介された彼の絵の赤に興味を持って、是非、作品を直に見てみたいと思ったからである。
会場は広尾にある山種美術館である。恵比寿駅から歩いて２０分のところにある。駅からそれほど遠くはないが、陽射しが強く、気温が高く、和服だったので多少汗をかいた。しかし、和服を着ていたお陰で入場料が割引となった。
会場はそれほど広くなく、また、入館者も少なく、見たい作品をじっくり見ることが出来た。特に、今回は奥田元宋の作品、またその内、赤を基調とした作品をじっくり鑑賞することにした。天の浮橋に立ち、幽界の次元で見るようにした。
彼の主な赤の作品は《玄溟》（写真）と《奥入瀬(秋)》であったが、この赤は本当に個性的で、美しく、一度見たら忘れない色である。パンフレットの説明書にはこの奥田元宋の赤を「元宋の赤」と言われているという。私にとっても赤を基調とした絵の代表が奥田元宋で、赤の代表画家となった。因みに、東山魁夷が青、藤田 嗣治は白である。色でその画家がわかるわけだから素晴らしい画家という事になる。この展覧会には東山魁夷の絵が一点あったが、すぐにわかった。
Gensou Okuda Exhibition
I have seen the "Gensou Okuda and the Master of Japan Fine Arts Exhibition" exhibition. I didn't know anything about Gensou Okuda, but I was interested in the red color of his painting that was introduced on TV. And I definitely wanted to see the real thing.
The venue is the Yamatane Museum of Art in Hiroo. It is a 20-minute walk from Ebisu Station. It wasn't too far from the station, but the sunlight was strong, the temperature was high, and I was wearing kimono, so I sweated a little. However, thanks to wearing Japanese clothes, the admission fee was discounted.
The venue was not so large, and there were few visitors, so I was able to take a closer look at the work I wanted to see.
In particular, this time I decided to take a closer look at the works of Gensou Okuda, and among them, the works based on red.
His main red works were "Genrin" (photo) and "Oirase (Autumn)", but this red is really unique, beautiful, and a color that people will never forget once they see it.
