「やまと絵」という語に興味を持ち、東京国立博物館で開催されている「やまと絵」展
を見せて貰った。いつもの通り展示品やその背景を知るために音声ガイドを借りた。はじめに「やまと絵」の説明が次のようにあった。
「やまと絵は、中国に由来する唐絵や漢画といった外来美術の理念や技法との交渉を繰り返しながら、独自の発展を遂げてきました。四季の移ろい、月ごとの行事、花鳥・山水やさまざまな物語など、あらゆるテーマが描かれてきました。」との説明があった。
この目で展示品を見ていくとなるほどと思うが、何しろ展示品の多くは、鎌倉時代、平安時代、室町時代という年代ものであるから、退色したり、色も形も消えたり,霞んでしまっているものもある。オリジナルの姿や色を想像してみるようにした。また、作者の心をみるようにした。合気道で鍛錬している第二の目、ひびきでである。
以前から名前だけは知っていたが、実物を始めた見た作品もあり、感動である。例えば、平家納経、源氏物語絵巻、信貴山縁起絵巻、鳥獣戯画等である。
素晴らしい展示会であった。また、脳に一本皺が刻まれただろう。
"Yamato-e" exhibition
I became interested in the term ``Yamato-e'' and went to see the ``Yamato-e'' exhibition being held at the Tokyo National Museum. As usual, I rented an audio guide to learn about the exhibits and their background. At the beginning, the explanation of ``Yamato-e'' was as follows.
``Yamato-e has developed uniquely through repeated negotiations with the ideas and techniques of foreign art such as KARA- paintings and KAN- paintings that originated in China. All kinds of themes have been depicted, such as the changing seasons, monthly events, flowers, birds, landscapes, and various stories. ” was the explanation.
I've only known the name before, but now I've seen some of works, and I'm really impressed. For example, the Heike no Sutra, the Tale of Genji Emaki, the Shigisan Engi Emaki, and Choju-giga.
It was a wonderful exhibition. Also, a wrinkle would have been etched into my brain.
