友人夫婦がフランスから来た（写真）。夫婦ばらばらでは毎年来日しているのだが、夫婦そろって東京に来たのが珍しく、８年ぶりだという。彼らとは毎年フランスで会っているから懐かしいわけではない。今年も６月に行った。合気道の講習会の後、地中海沿岸の町コリウールで数日を過ごしてきたところである。
この夫婦とはミュヘン時代に知り合ったので、４０、５０年来の付き合いである。また、彼らは、私の帰国後日本に来て、７年間滞在し、生花、合気道、弓道を身につけ、今は夫婦でそれを生業にしている。つまり先生である。
郊外に広い庭つきの立派な木造の家を建て、子供を育て、今は二人の孫に恵まれている。
彼らも我々（妻と私）も食べる事が好きで、昔、一緒に東京で食べ歩きをしたし、終いにはフランスのリヨンにある有名なフランスレストラン「ピラミッド」まで食べに行った。
今回の二人の希望は天ぷらだったので、新宿にある「つな八」本店を予約した。時間にルーズなフランス人としては珍しく、約束の場所で落ち合い店に入った。
コースの前に、お刺身を沢山食べたので、コースの最後のかき揚げは、皆少し残してしまったが、みんなが楽しみにしていたアイスクリームの天ぷらを注文し食べきった。そして来年５月の再会を約束して別れた。楽しいひと時だった。
Friend, come from distant place
My friend's couple came from France (picture). This couple visits Japan every year individually, but it is for couple to come to Tokyo together for the first time in 8 years. But I do not miss them because I meet them in France every year. I went in June this year. They like us (wife and myself) like to eat. Once in a while we had eaten together in Tokyo and finally went to a famous French restaurant "Pyramid" in Lyon, France.
Their hope this time was tempura, so I reserved "Tsuna hachi" in Shinjuku. We ate a lot of sashimi before the menu course, so all of the last kakiage of the course was left a little. But we ordered tempura of ice cream which everyone was looking forward to and finished eating. And we promised a reunion in France next May and said goodbye.
