毎年恒例の古武道演武大会を参観してきた。今回はじめて入場券を５００円で購入した。これまでは招待券をもらっていたので無料であったが申し訳なく思っていた。この大会のためには、演武者は勿論の事、関係者以外の方々も時間、労力、そしてお金を費やしているわけだから入場料があるべきだと思っていたのである。また、入場料を取ることによって、演武者や主催者は更に真剣に演武をし、そのためにも稽古にも気合がは入るだろうし、少しでもいい演武会にしようと関係者も張り切れるはずである。
お陰でいい演武を見させて貰った。特に、研究中だった問題にヒントを与えてくれた宮本武蔵元祖の二刀流、それと甲冑抜刀術を勉強になった。
日本の古武道は日本の文化であり、人類の遺産であると思っているので、古武道のますますの発展を祈って帰宅した。
Japanese Kobudo Demonstration Tournament
I went to watch the annual Kobudo demonstration tournament. This was my first time purchasing an admission ticket for 500 yen. Up until now, I had received an invitation ticket, so it was free, but I felt bad about it. I thought there should be an admission fee because not only the performers but also people other than those involved were spending time, effort, and money on this tournament. In addition, by charging an admission fee, the performers and organizers will take the performance more seriously, and for that reason, they will be more motivated to practice, and everyone involved will be able to do their best to make the performance as good as possible.
I was able to see a good performance. In particular, I learned about Miyamoto Musashi's two-wielding technique, which gave me hints for the problem I was researching, and his armored battōjutsu.
I believe that Japanese Kobudo is a part of Japanese culture and a heritage of humanity, so I returned home praying for the further development of Kobudo.
